Shopping at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol: See Buy Fly airside, Schiphol Plaza landside, the Albert Heijn supermarket, opening hours and tax-free rules.
Schiphol has two shopping zones. Landside, Schiphol Plaza is a regular mall with an Albert Heijn supermarket, pharmacy, fashion, electronics and souvenir shops, open to anyone. Airside, the See Buy Fly shops in Lounges 1, 2 and 3 and along Holland Boulevard sell perfume, liquor, chocolate, tulip bulbs, cheese and Dutch gifts to departing passengers (checked September 2026).
Yes. The main Albert Heijn in Schiphol Plaza is open 05:00 to 00:00 every day, with two smaller AH to go outlets open around 06:00 to 22:00 (checked September 2026). It is the cheapest place at the airport for water, snacks and a meal, and prices are the same as in town.
Airside shops follow the flight schedule: they open daily at least one hour before the first departure and close 30 minutes before the last. Individual store hours are listed on schiphol.nl.
Prices in See Buy Fly are the same for everyone and duty-free savings apply only if you fly outside the EU, mainly on alcohol and tobacco. Non-EU residents can reclaim VAT on purchases made in the Netherlands: since 1 January 2026 the process at Schiphol is fully digital, so the shop registers the purchase and you validate it in the NL Customs VAT app instead of paper forms.
